2020 Desert Hills Merlot

Our 2020 Merlot is a classic example of why Merlot grows so well in the Okanagan. Rich and powerful, with dark fruit, oak spice, chocolate and herbs. Approachable and crowd pleasing, with velvety tannins on the finish. Drink this Merlot over the next 5-7 years.

This Merlot is from our Eagle's Nest Vineyard (45.5% Merlot) located on Black Sage Bench, our Terrace Vineyard (45.5% Merlot) located in Kaleden, our Three Boy's Vineyard (5% Malbec), and finally our Sagebrush Vineyard (5% Cabernet Franc) . The fruit was hand harvested and carefully sorted before being destemmed and separated by lot. Fermentation proceeded steadily and separately in stainless steel tanks using a combination of indigenous and cultivated yeast. The wine then spent 20 months in 10% new French oak.
