2019 Desert Hills Viognier

84% stainless, 15% Barrel fermented, 1% skin fermented
Our 2019 Viognier showcases an array of complex fruit flavours with medium body and a supple mouth feel. This wine has crisp acidity for a viognier with notes of melon and cantaloupe on the fore palate and crushed white flowers on the finish.
A good representation of the South Okanagan our Viognier. Happys Vineyard is grown on the banks of the Golden Mile Bench. The viticulture practices we employ include low yields, vertical shoot positioning trellis system, shoot thinning, green harvesting (cluster thinning) and light leaf removal. These practices promote higher concentrations and a superior quality grape. All fruit is hand harvested and brought to the winery while still cool.
All-natural indigenous yeast fermentation and full Malolactic fermentation. 84% of the wine was fermented in stainless steel with 2 barrels of 25% new French oak aged for 3 month and 1% of skin ferment viognier blended in. Once complete we aged the wines for 4 months in stainless steel before the wine was stabilized, filtered and bottled in April.
