2018 Desert Hills Malbec

A juicy and complex, showing aromas of rosemary, dill, blueberry and black pepper. On the palate, the blue and black fruits are joined by more fresh herbs, licorice and pepper spice. Bright acidity and herbs on the palate give this wine a sense of freshness on the long finish. Drinking window 5-7 years.

Our 2018 Malbec is from our estate Three Boys vineyard located on the Black Sage Bench. The fruit was hand harvested and carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation proceeded steadily in a stainless steel tank using a combination of indigenous and cultivated yeast. 8% Merlot and 2% whole cluster Syrah was added for balance and texture. The wine then spent 20 months in 15% new French oak to mature.
