Tasting Notes
Some of the finest grapes on the Black Sage Bench. A robust wine, with an intense, dark berry flavour. Jammy, spicy mid palate with a long vanilla and black chocolate finish.
Vineyard Notes
Three Boys is our Estate Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, where the east-west orientation and famous sandy soil provide for maximum sun exposure and great drainage. Our Syrah is planted 8 by 3 feet, where we harvest less grapes per vine, but of superior quality.
Production Notes
Only 900 cases produced
Winemaker Notes
Grapes were hand harvested and hand sorted followed by the stemmed
whole berries and free run juice being transferred to fermenting tanks for a five day cold
soak, twice daily pump over. Fermentation was maintained at a consistent 26 degrees.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve with prime rib, tenderloin or filet, game, foie gras and strong
cheese. Excellent aging potential.
