Our Team

Desert Hills Estate Winery is a two time recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for excellence in winemaking and the winner of Canada’s Best Red Wine.

This family owned, boutique winery is ideally located on some of the most sought after terroir in the Okanagan, that of the Black Sage Bench, outside Oliver, BC.  Sitting on 24 acres of some of the finest vineyards in the South Okanagan, this award winning Okanagan Winery is situated between Black Hills and Burrowing Owl wineries – an ideal provenance for the grapes.

"Desert Hills Estate Winery is family owned & operated. Every member of this team from the office to the vineyard is a part of our family & you can see that in the passion, dedication & pride each one of them shows" - Randy Toor

Desert Hills Team

Jessie Toor
Owner / Grower

Jesise finds his joy in the vineyards.  Managing over 80 acres under vine, Jessie & Anthony ensure that Desert Hills remains an innovator in vineyard managment & viticulture practices.  The brothers strongly believe that wine is grown, not just made.  That belief is very evident in Jessie's care for the estate vineyards.

Dave Toor

Owner / Production Manager

The youngest of the brothers, Dave looks after all things bottling, labeling, warehousing & shipping.  His attention to detail ensures that the quality of Desert Hills wines extend all the way to bottle & finally delivery.

Rajen Toor

Owner Ursa Major Estate Winery / Asst. Winemaker DH

Rajen is the second generation of Toor to enter the wine business.  He learned the craft from his father & the passion came from years of immersement and his own label Ursa Major, started in 2016. When not pouring wine, he can be found in the cellar with Anthony.

Shawna Dunkley

Business Manager

Shawna came to Desert Hills as a close friend & since has become one of the family.  Running all things business, her dedication & passion make her invaluable.  She is the cheerful voice at the end of the phone & warm smile when being greeted in the wine shop
